Modern lighting controls systems are more complex than they used to be and specifying them is a growing challenge. There are many different components that make up a complete lighting control system and so being able to quickly identify and specify the basic components of a lighting control system is a skill that all lighting designers should have. This presentation proposes a new way of looking at lighting controls systems, through the lens of the 5 pillars of lighting controls. With this foundational knowledge, it is easier for a design team to provide a complete and functional lighting control system
- Learning Objective 1: Upon completion, participants will be able to understand and evaluate lighting controls systems.
- Learning Objective 2: Upon completion, participants will be able to decide which protocol is best per the project’s needs.
- Learning Objective 3: Upon completion, participants will be able to understand how interfaces work and how to implement them.
- Learning Objective 4: Upon completion participants will be able to specify lighting controls systems.
